J!m:
I was under the impression Rolex will not return any fake watch.
I think (at least in the US) that J!M’s assessment is correct. There are shades of gray here. On one end you have a fully Rolex built watch and at the other extreme a fully counterfeit Rolex/Tudor with no Rolex produced parts. Rolex won’t work on anything less than 100% Rolex. I’m not sure what they do to outright fakes. I’d think that the AD would stop someone from sending a fake into a RSC.
Regardless, I feel the potential worry in this case is that the watch could be somewhere in between genuine and fake. This happens in some parts of the world quite a bit whereby a vintage piece gets restored, but NOT by Rolex. The restorer might use parts that might not have been produced by Rolex so you end up with something in the middle…. a chimera.
I don’t think we want to freak Ralligerflo out here. Most folks on this forum are very familiar with Rolex, but not with Tudor (Boscoe excluded). I’m not sure we can placate Ralligerflo’s authenticity concerns outright. The best bet might be to take it to someone with more Tudor experience. If Ralligerflo wants to send it in to Rolex, he might want to call and check their policies in his location to be sure of the policy.
